We are leaving town tomorrow for our Winter 2007 trip to Southeast Asia. We will be gone the whole month of February. I set lofty goals in preparation for this trip
1) Leave enough room in the suitcase so that I can shop.
2) Figure out how to download Internet and CD music on my new MP3 player.
3) Figure out how to blog.
4) Buy comfortable walking shoes.
And I did it ! The last of my CD's are loading on to the MP3 player as I write. The bags are packed with tons of room for new treasures. Obviously I started the blog. Now the shoes...I was starting to despair when, on a whim, I stopped in a Tack Store (they sell horse related stuff) in the middle of nowhere, somewhere east of where I live. Lo and Behold! I found the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my life. They are from a company that makes equestrian boots http://ariat.com. But these are not boots they are slip on shoes. Great for all the walking I have to do and even better going through airport security.
Tomorrow we leave for the first leg of our jouney. We will be driven to NYC by a limo service here in Easton. Sounds like pure luxury. It is. Best of all it is cheaper than any of our other options. We could have taken a chartered plane from our little local airport to NYC-the most expensive. We could have driven to BWI, Dulles, National or Philly; paid parking fees and a round trip ticket to NYC, park car, take shuttle to gate, porter our own bags. Or we could have taken a local limo service to BWI, with long waits at the airport. However, the best and cheapest option was to take a limo directly to NYC. On the return our driver will meet us at the airport and drive us home. Mimimal hassel, lots of luxury and the cheapest option.
