Update on My Father

My father, Joe Mack, has had some heart problems for awhile and before we left for our trip in Feb. the docs tried to do an ablation procedure to remove remove his atrial flutter. The first go was a bust and it had been rescheduled for the last Tues. in Feb. Mom died the week before the procedure so things have been hectic up here for the family. On Tues. he showed up for his procedure only to find that an important imaging machine needed for the procedure had broken. The procedure was scheduled for Fri. (yesterday). My brother Dan and I took Dad to the hospital and hung around, my sister Barbie came later along with my nephew.

Dad's ablation procedure was a success and we were able to bring him home last evening. So my sister Barbie and I prepared a good homemade baked sea bass dinner, chatted a bit and then went to sleep.

Today we plan to start writing the thank you notes. Since I missed the funeral this will give me a chance to think about all the folks that were there and see how other people thought about her.

Many people have asked for the eulogy that Barbara and I wrote and the homily my dad wrote. Barbara's eulogy is already online. There are some inaccurate dates that I need to fix. I plan to post the two other eulogies in the next few days. Thank you for your outpouring of sympathy at this time.
