Volcanoes

Volcanoes have been a interesting feature of the landscape and one of the reasons the Panama Canal is where it is. Nicaragua has too many volcanoes. In fact when the Congress in early 20th century was trying to vote (or maybe in was a commission) there was an active eruption in Nicaragua near the place where the canal would be. So here are some volcanoe photos mostly from Nicaragua and from the air as we flew over Mexico. These are all active volcanoes .
The photo of me was taken in a plaza in Nicaragua. A street performer pulled me out of the crowd to do a little salsa dancing. (Note to self-to avoid future embarrassement take Salsa lesson here at Club Med)
This parrot gave the crowd a real performance. Everyone was trying to get him to talk in every language. He would just cock his head, almost as if he was laughing at us. So finally I pipe up in my wicked witch voice and say, "Hola" He blinks at me cocks his head and lets out the same wicked witch "Hola". The moral of this story is that parrots in Mexico speak Spanish.
