On The Road Again

Dick and I are taking off again on a domestic road trip. No airplanes, boats, elephants or other unusual transportation...just our trusty Honda and our GPS named Sophia.

We plan to Attend the 4 day FGS (Federation of Genealogy Societies) conference in Philadelphia. It appears to be chock full of fine speakers...hope the presentations are just as good. Some of my good genealogy buddies will be there so hopefully I can meet up with them and chew the fat.

We then plan to head up north to visit Dick's 90 yo cousin Glen who lives on the edge of a lake next to Lake Ontario. He has a 'camp' that he lives in year round with his John Deere tractor. He heats his cabin with wood. Fascinating gentleman.

The rest of the time we plan to hunt for dead relatives in library data bases, cemeteries, etc. We also plan a visit to a town historian or two.

Hi Catherine!
I am visiting you here. I am geeting together some things to email you on the Yaleville area and the Yale/Andrews photos. We loved visiting with you yesterday and hope we answered some of your questions but, I am sure you will have more when you get home. Come see me at memasmoments blog once in a while.I look forward to more research and communication.

Hi Cathie,
Glad to see you are kicking some life into your blog after a silent summer. Ethan is 4... remind me again who is Ethan? We have our own Ethan... now all of 9 months and getting quite mobile. Actually, ours is Ethan-Phoenix Durban-Handal, but daughter Deanna and husband Steeve call him Phoenix.
Give my regards to Dick and enjoy your Royal Caribbean cruise. Will you be getting to Labadee Beach on their Eastern Caribbean tour? That's on the north coast of Haiti, although quite a ways from where we are.
Best regards,
Lance
