Yesterday was Day 1 of our cruise. We woke in an extremely cold hotel room in Miami…they apparently don’t do heat at the hotel. About 12 of us boarded a small bus at noon for the port; or more accurately 12 popsicles. Much to our drivers displeasure he cranked the heat up as requested. Boarded the ship-Jewel of the Seas- and found a comfy chair in the solarium with the sun pouring through the windows and promptly fell asleep.
Day 2 we are south east of Cuba with easterly winds 35-40 knots hitting the ship broadside to port. The seas are choppy but I can’t figure out how big the swells are because I am 10 stories up and don’t want to go outside on a lower deck just yet. I am enjoying the warmth of the Solarium too much .
Last night I opened an email account on ship and promptly lost 10 valuable minutes trying to get into my blog…..unsuccessfully. We are near Cuba and for some reason the signals are rather spotty in this area. A minutes costs .37 cents.
Hubby is out exploring the ship and I am quite content to divide my time between our lovely quiet room, the Solarium with the pool and hot tub and the concierge lounge where they have unlimited beverages and snacks and it’s quiet with windows to enjoy the sea.
Tonight is formal night and it is always fun to see people dressed up. So that is about it for Day 2.
