The Spring Garden

Spring is officially here and my garden is slowly responding to the nudging of warm temperatures, gentle showers, and glorious sunshine. This is the front bed in front of my textile studio/formally known as the dining room. Not much excitement especially from the Camellia in the far right corner. What you can't see is deciduous Magnolia in the center that is putting out tentative buds.

This photo was taken in front also. It is a veiw from my husband's study/formally known as the living room. I planted about 75 bulbs last fall. I took this picture two days ago and this morning there were about twice as many blooms. Very pretty.

This is the back yard up close to the house. If you sit on the patio you can see the neighbors horse pasture. Not much activity going on here except for weeds. The iris under the window got faked out by the December warm spell and their tender little tips are all brown. Hopefully they will not be so timid and grow tall and bloom for us. I also have lots of garden space to play with this year. This I plan to do with passion.

Here is last night sunset. Pretty average as sunsets go around here. However, the sky has been overcast since the first day of spring. This is the first spring sunset of the year and we can acutally watch it from our sun room or patio(if the weather is warm).
