Happy New Year. The party last night was the best. But I will have to blog about that later. We left the port at St. Thomas last evening and the Captain set a course for New York City. The entire ship partied into the wee hours and so did I--for those of you that don't know me I usually go to bed about 9 pm and read until I fall asleep. Not last night though..
Well, the ships horn sounded the noon hour. The eight bells in the lobby were struck and The Captain came on with an update on our location and the weather. I am totally excited.
We are about to enter a cold front. This means gale force winds and 15 to 20 ft. seas--according to the Capt. QM2 was built as an ocean liner and can handle these conditions with narry a blink. But I have never seen gale force winds at sea nor 20 ft waves so you can bet I will try to get as close to the action as I safely can be it in a lounge at wave level or the balcony if they let us out. Our room has a protected balcony so at least I can stand out there and enjoy the weather. Dick however, is not so enthusiastic. He related to me all his sea sick stories over a Bloddy Mary and a Golden Margarieta a few moments ago.
Tomorrow is our last sea day as we dock in New York City early on the 3rd. Should be at our home in Easton by early afternoon at the latest.
Happy New Year to Everyone. And Lance and Nadia are you Grandparents Yet??????
