We went to an eco village/zoo last night and had an awemsome experience.
I floated through an underground river. It was brackish water and the closer I got to the finish the more salty and greater the current. The underground river, really a river in a cave, lets out into the ocean. They have bars at the end of the tunnel so you don't get swept out to see. It was about a one mile journey. I was in a life jacket that was more like a harness. So I just sort of adjusted the straps so I could sit and used my arms as oars. Most people put on snorkel gear. They were exhauseted when they got to the end (about one mile), me I just paddled along minding my own business and was as fit and rested as could be by the time I got to the end.
We then ate ice cream and went to the most terrific show I have ever seen. It was an extravaganza of dance, music, sport, and history combined. The theme was the history of Mexico from the Mayan civilization to the present. We saw a demonstration of Mayan soccer and another exhibition of a sort of Mayan field hockey/la crosse played with a flaming ball. Intoxicating.
