It's spring. Which means all four seasons vie for attention on any given day. Today it is cold and sunny. The trees a leafing out. The peeps down by the creek are going full throttle at night. (old wisdom says that the peeps have to freeze three times before the warm weather sticks around). The birds have all staked out this seasons real estate and are busy looking for building materials. All is well with the world here in Easton.
My life has been busy. I am learning all about this new computer and Microsoft Vista (my opinion: I like Vista). Have had lots of overnight guests of all ages. Grandson 'Lil E', age 3, came for a long weekend. He had fun with Grandpa putting puzzles together. We bought a puzzle just for him-Spider Man. The two spent time together putting this one together. It had more pieces and was a bit more difficult that the other puzzles he has worked on.
Granddaughter 'KK' came for a long weekend also. She is 2 1/2 and it's all about potty training right now. She is doing very well and I got a happy mommy phone call the other evening saying that KK had worn panties to school for the first time and stayed dry all day. Good Job!
Then I got to take Lil'E and KK overnight at a local motel. It's a long boring story of how we got there. But we got there with no clothes, toothbrushes, only two insurance papers (aka disposable diapers). I sternly told the two of them to stay in bed (one queen size bed was all that was left at the Inn that night) while I tended to my business in the bathroom. I added for effect that if they started horsing around and got hurt I wouldn't be too sorry, as I had warned them of the consequences of horsing around. Well, I heard lots of giggles, rustling around, a large thump....and then silence. When I came back into the room they were in bed with the blankets up around their chins and their eyes closed. It wasn't until morning when I was bathing them that I noticed that KK had a rug burn on her forehead, nose and chin. They both soberly told me that they were horsing around and got hurt but that since they were naughty they had to have consequences.
I might also add that earlier that evening I let them play with my iPhone. I figured since I was sitting there and looking for UTube videos for them to watch that all was safe. At some point these 2 & 3 year old techie whizzes password locked me totally out of the phone and I had to contact the company to get the blamed thing unlocked again.
Our other guest was another child but this one just turned 45. Dick's #2 son was given a plane ticket to come and visit his siblings and dad for several days as a birthday gift from his wife and older sister. We had a lovely time. And he did play with the iPhone but was very polite about it. He did not password lock me out of the phone. We went out to a local pub for some fish. I highly recommend the Crab Soup at Legal Spirits here in Easton.
Finally, this weekend we had "A" our 8 year old granddaughter. She played with the iPhone also. That is tops on her wish list. I told her that an iPhone was something she should purchase for herself after she gets a job and pays taxes. She really got into the YTube videos and found two that are just too funny. Jeff Dunham-Achmed the Dead Terrorist is about as funny as any ventriloquist show I have ever seen. The other that has just captivated all the grand kids and some adults--Potter Puppet Pals . Where Snape hears a strange ticking sound. What "A" does not know--I can track her UTube visits. She was pretty good about staying away from questionable sites. But I did notice that she viewed a lot of 'fart jokes'. Is this a typical 8 year old thing?
So there you have it. What I have been doing instead of blogging.

Hi Cathie,
My goodness only one post for the entire month of April? But it sounds like you and Dick have been very busy entertaining family. I must say, I don't know too much about the iPhone you mention... my iPod is still enough to keep me amused. The Youtube clips are something I will have to check out when I get home (we blocked the site here at work, figuring our employees would likely become even less productive if they had Youtube available all day). Anyway, I enjoyed your post and encourage you to post something on our Yahoo! Group... which hasn't seen much activity of late.
Best regards to you both,
Lance
