Another Day in Paradise

Last night Dick played an hours worth of tennis with the asst. pro. He had a good time and came home refreshed. I finished the sleeve on my cardigan that I began in Cambodia and have now started on the second sleeve. This afternoon we will do a one hour tour of the gardens. Tomorrow we visit a Hindu temple.

Big news to Dick's kids. He finally made it into the plunge pool. Acutally enjoyed it and got in and out of the pool with no problems. We met Lily the security dog at the registration desk. The resort employs two dogs. They are bomb sniffing dogs. When a vehicle arrives at the gate the car is checked with mirrors and the engine examined. A dog sniffs around the car and generally takes a wiff of the luggage in the back seat. Then the luggage is sniffed again as it is removed from the car at the registration desk. You might remember that Bali suffered a couple of bombings not so long ago. Hence, the tight security. The tourism has been sufferring badly. This week the resort has only 40% occupancy. Mostly Koreans, Japanese, Chinese and Russians vacation in Bali now. The bombings we were shown took place only a km or two from the entrance to our resort. Scary! But we are safe inside the resort.

I enjoy reading the comments on the blog. It seems easier to get the comments and write the blog than it is to write individual emails. The emails take forever to download and upload but the blog loads easily. Thank you to Laura, Katie, Eric, Tara, Sandra and Lance for your comments. By the way if you want to seem some beautiful grandchildren check out the album on Eric's website at www.kazimir.net. Eric and Tara are stunning in their formal attire.

No pictures on this post as the computer does not seem to want to upload them.
